This year’s summer camp will take place between 4th and 6th August at the Winston Churchill Sports Centre. The summer camp is open to all children from age 4 including complete karate novices. In addition to karate there will be lots of games, fitness lessons and even karate demonstrations. Price is £15 per person per day or just £30 for all three days! Family and friends are welcome. Summer Camp 2014
The club had a very strong performance this year at the Championship, winning several trophies and particularly: Angela Randazzo – Girls Kumite under 5’3″, Kenny Lambourne – Boy’s Kumite 10-11 years, and Sensei Jamie Sims – Dan Grades Male Senior Kumite. Sensei Jamie won the title in spectacular fashion scoring two ippons and defeating last year’s champion. Well done all!
Sensei John Parnell, 5th dan, from Basingstoke Shotokan Karate club will be teaching an advanced lesson for brown and black belts on Sunday, 29 June, 2-4pm at the Guildford Spectrum. For more details see here. All invited.

Costs:
Training and Grading: £20 for members (if you pay monthly by standing order), £30 non members
Training only : £7 for members (if you pay monthly by standing order), £12 non members
Grading only : £15 for members (if you pay monthly by standing order), £20 non members
Please ensure that if you are grading that you bring your red grading book complete with current KUGB licence and that you allow at least half an hour to register before the lesson start time.
If you pay monthly in advance by standing order you will pay a subsidised training/grading fee.
Grading checklist: Licence, Gi, change of clothes/overgi, small snack + non-fizzy drink, money.
As per normal training, will the parent/guardians of all juniors please ensure that their children have been to the toilet before the grading!
Jack Somers, KUGB Kata team member and 2013 ESKA champion, will be teaching a special kata lesson on Saturday 11 January. Sensei Somers will be teaching both the junior lesson (12:00-13:00) and the senior lesson, which will be extended by half an hour (13:00-14:30). The workshop is free for regular club members; price for guests is £7.

There will be a friendly kumite competition at Egham Karate club on Sunday, 15 December. During the break there will be an exciting karate demonstration. The event is free and will start at 15:00 and run until 19:00. Family and friends are welcome!
On Saturday, 15 July, Sensei Jamie will be competing at the Southern Region Championship. Sensei Malcolm Williams, 2nd dan, from Egham Karate Club will be teaching instead.
